What: Singing Psychic Game Show
Where: La Boheme, Grote St
Duration: 60 minutes
Genre: Cabaret/Comedy
(Reviewed by John Glennie)
A very entertaining show and, being a Sunday, it was a small crowd which meant that we all became included and had our fortunes or birth-dates read (or sung anyway!).
Our psychic explained how she found that she had this gift of associating a song to an individual and was urged to pursue her dreams by her mother – though her father wanted her to get a “real job” and find a rich man to marry! She said that we will find that she is always right (just like my ex-wife, I mentioned).
The evening included games with the attendees split into two teams who competed for points. A good laugh and great entertainment. Points lost and gained by both teams throughout, but no one was really monitoring the score.
When my turn came to have my fortune read I picked out the four cards – one for the past, one for the present, one for the future and a ‘barrier’. Each card had a song name, which she sang, then explained what it meant. I was accused of being a procrastinator which, I admit, is quite true (I used to crastinate, then I turned pro!!).
As we departed at the end of the show we could pick out a card with a song name to take with us. Mine was ‘Toxic’ by Britney Spears, and I was told I need to eat healthier – despite having a pretty healthy diet anyway!?!
A good fun show and I recommend it – you may learn something about yourself that you’ve been too afraid to open your eyes to!
