THE GOV WINS BEST LIVE MUSIC VENUE IN SOUTH AUSTRALIA
Iconic South Australian hotel, the Governor Hindmarsh, aka ‘The Gov’ has won the AHA (SA) Award for Excellence for Best Live Music Venue 2019 and has been inducted into the AHA (SA) Hall of Fame.
Spiritual home of live music in the state, The Gov has won the Best Live Venue award eleven times since the Tonkin family took ownership and put the focus on live music 25 years ago.
The award and Hall of Fame induction acknowledges the venue’s success in every element of operations, celebrating excellence in light and sound, artist support, customer service, safe and inclusive facilities and much, much more.
Hotel owners, Melissa and Jo Tonkin, attended the awards event alongside Jasmin Marshall-Tonkin, Mia Tonkin-Phanoulas, Sarah Mooney and Assistant Hotel Manager Kat Teale.
Melissa says it is an honour for the hotel to be recognised:
“The Gov are thankful for all of the support of music lovers and bands.
“We are passionate about live music and love sharing it with the diverse audiences that come through our doors every week.
“We work hard to support artists to bring their music to the people, making sure all of the details are taken care of, so they just have to turn up and play.
“This AHA SA award recognises the The Gov’s fantastic staff and also the artists who keep coming back to create amazing moments for the music lovers of South Australia.”
The team at The Gov congratulates all winners at the AHA (SA) Awards for Excellence.
