The Adelaide Roller Derby Grand Final is taking place on Saturday, August 4 with the Mile Die Club taking on the Road Train Rollers battling for 1st place for the 2018 season. This is the final game of the season and each team will be leaving it all on the track.
The Mile Die Club have been undefeated in the 2018 season and are looking to secure their final win with a grand final victory after coming 2nd place in 2017 coming up short to the Salty Dolls. While the Road Train Rollers are set on ending the Mile Die Club’s winning streak and going home as champions. The 2018 Grand Final is a double-header bout with the Wild Hearses and Salty Dolls warming everyone up with a clash for the 3rd place spot.
The Adelaide Roller Derby teams have been training for this since April with numerous bouts at the Adelaide Showground over the 2018 season.
On top of this, in June, the Adelaide Roller Derby hosted The Great Southern Slam, the world’s largest Roller Derby tournament with 48 teams from all over Australia and New Zealand. Many Adelaide Roller Derby players took part in the tournament with the Adelaide Roller Derby division 1 team ‘The Adeladies’ coming 4th overall.
