• Emerson Jones at the age of 16 takes a huge scalp on the outside courts to make the second round and will now take on number nine ranked Daria Kasatina on the bigger stage of centre court.
• Denis Shapovalov was in cruise control on centre court and goes into the second round fresh before his match up against Giron on Wednesday.
• Aussie O’Connell in a fantastic win on the outside courts into the evening giving the Aussies overall a pretty good day one at the Adelaide International.
