Faulty Towers the Dining Experience Review

The Strathmore Hotel Balcony Restaurant – February 20, 2017

This show and dining experience seems to be a regular fixture on the Adelaide Fringe schedule but this would be my first time of taking in the antics of Basil, Mauel and Sybil.

We start are our night with some pre – dinner drinks at the Strathmore Restaurant bar and not before long, we are all part of the show as chaos develops with Manuel misinterpreting Basil making a hilarious start from the get go.  Sybil directs the diners which are large in number to their table and any names difficult to pronounce including mine, are met with a sneer.

As we are seated at our tables, Sybil comes around to check for any allergies. Everything seems to be in order before more chaos develops and there is bread flying around.  It’s a very interactive show and already so much laughter and we are only on entrée.  The soup was enjoyed by all but the service is something else.  Manuel’s table service is pretty poor but so hilarious at the same time. The frustrated expressions on Basil’s face are fantastic.  The verbal dialogue in the show is hilarious but also the non-verbal expressions by all three actors.

As you do dine throughout the night (the food was delicious) , expect to have yourself become part of the show at any time.  The show resembles Faulty Towers so well, and so many belly laughs throughout the night makes for one entertaining night out.

Definitely put this on your shows to see at the Adelaide Fringe this year.
