Wild Nights Tour at HQ Review

By Tony Polese · On June 26, 2018

Wild Nights at HQ – June 21st, 2018.

Contrary to the lineup clearly stating Nick Skitz was to be closing the night’s proceedings, he was already on the decks upon walking in the door. This was a little confusing for a lot of people as it appeared he was just a warm-up DJ so unfortunately, he didn’t have the usual response or impact he would otherwise have on the crowd.

DJ Aligator warmed up the crowd quite nicely playing new song ‘Flatline’ and after playing tribute to fellow DJ Avicii, the front row of people were treated to various coloured whistles to blow along (appropriately) to ‘The Whistle Song’ and set closer ‘Lollipop’.

N-Trance were a good addition to the line up, playing their highly rotated radio hits ‘Do Ya Think I’m Sexy’, ‘Stayin’ Alive’ and ‘Set You Free’ amongst plenty of other cover songs which drew the crowd in.

Love Inc’s set was very short but sweet! Of the 3 songs that were played, ‘Broken Bones’ was definitely the highlight given how vocal the crowd was for this number.

DJ Sash was the standout for me. His set was back to back with club classics ‘Mysterious Times’, ‘Stay’, ‘Encore Une Fois and ‘Adelante’ with corresponding film clips on the backing screen and a good laser show.

Cascada was an absolute powerhouse of energy, using every inch of the stage to work the crowd into a vocal frenzy. It was very clear why she was the headlining act when ‘Evacuate The Dancefloor’ was performed. Though there were a lot of cover songs such as ‘The Rhythm Of The Night’, it didn’t curtail the crowd’s momentum as there was a lot of anticipation for the biggest crowd pleaser for the night ‘Everytime We Touch’.

It was definitely a success so hopefully there will be another Wild Nights tour in the near future!
