As the four piece punk-rock band gallivanted on stage in a childish fun manner, classic pop hits played in the background setting high vibes for the chanting crowd. The Melbournian band had nothing short of an obnoxiously loud yet gratifying welcoming committee.
Not a single beat went astray without a keen juvenile crowd surfing their way to the front of stage to get close and personal with the long-haired- yahoos. Sinking long necks on stage and keeping up consistent conversation with fans gave the crowd a somewhat sense of partying with the band members, including a special birthday anthem to a fan.
Predictably the band proceeded to close the set with a well encouraged encore making for a satisfying end to the engaging uplifting performance.
The Bennies punk rock sound was hectic from the word go, with their high paced energetic set keeping the crowd captivated for the full duration. Detroit Rock Ciggies kept the audience singing along with their newest hit. Finishing with the ever-popular Legalise (Don’t Tax) they had the raucous crowd rocking out singing along to a song, which no doubt resonates with them.
