We recently interviewed My Echo who are playing at the Ed Castle on February 24.
- What was your reaction when you found out you claimed the number 1 spot in Triple J Unearthed charts
It was quite a nice feeling! Not sure what all that means but it’s just good to know people were interested to hear what we had put out and all the feedback was positive which was great.
- Knowing Kingswood guys personally, bet you are excited to be playing with them.
We have a hoot every time we play with Kingswood so it’s always rad to see their name pop up in the schedule.
- What have you got planned for 2017?
We’re about to put out our first album so hopefully a whole heap of touring.
- Where do you get the ideas to write the music you write?
I guess most of the record is about our shortcomings. Things we’ve let ourselves and others down with impuissance viagra naturel. We used to write angry songs about other people/things but we’ve sort of turned it around on ourselves this time.
- What’s the most funny thing to happen while you were onstage?
Playing Groovin The Moo a while back Brenton took a tumble off the kick drum which was on a huge drum riser. There’s a hilarious video of it in our Instagram somewhere.
- Who is your biggest inspiration?
We all listen to a fairly broad range of music so it’s hard to pick someone from that, but when one of us walks into rehearsal with an idea or even just a good attitude that always inspires the rest of us and is the catalyst for our most productive moments.
- What are some of your passions outside of music?
Brenton always seems to be pulling his Motorcycle apart, Tom is obsessed with Cricket, Steve likes Dragon Ball Z and Henry likes keeping a clean house.
- What advice would you give to aspiring bands?
Make having fun the priority. I’m not too sure what your aspiring to but if it’s world domination you’ve got your work cut out, so you might as well have a laugh in the mean time
- With your tour, are you expecting fans to come out in their 80’s fashion?
Well I’m not sure what to expect but if it happens we’ll all be so stoked. In fact, if there’s any ripping 80’s get ups at the shows we’d be happy to pull s few rewards out.
- With festival season in full swing when you tour Adelaide, are you planning to take any of the Adelaide Fringe festivities in?
We love Adelaide so much so we’re trying to sort out an extra couple of nights in town so that’s certainly on the cards!
