(Review by Pat Bibbo)
I was lucky to witness tribute artist TJ Cappola performance of Michael Jackson on Saturday night at the Thebarton theatre. He performed with 6 dancers and a 6 piece band.
I had a great viewing point but noticed many empty seats. It looked like it was 3/4 full.
There were many families with children dressed as Michael and many older people.
There was a screen showing footage of Michael while there was costume changes and the songs were from each album.
The stage was good, nothing to elaborate though and the stage presence was amazing. He has perfected the choreography and matched the costumes .
He looks amazing but I felt his costumes were not as elaborate and to detail as Michael,s
He interacted with the crowd but the atmosphere was not as electric as previous shows I have attended. It was exciting for the fans and was a great tribute.
Even though tribute artists are talented I feel that you can never feel that excitement that the real artist brings. It was a good show but not the best I have seen.
I was glad I experienced this concert but I feel it only deserved 7/10 as the choreography was fantastic but it lacked the audience atmosphere.
