London Grammar, where do I begin.
There is irony that your name evokes the breadth of the English language. That is how many words one needs to try to capture and convey your pure essence. From the opening haunting tune that cut the air, making the hairs on the back of the neck stand on end, to the stirring rendition of Strong, was purely magical. The ethereal voice of lead singer Hannah Reid, had a vocal range that soared into the night sky transcending to an alto, that sat down deep in your soul. London Grammar’s music could be described as hypnotic, leaving the crowd mesmerised and immersed in every note. It was a special night for band member Daniel, having a birthday and being serenaded by Hannah singing Happy Birthday.
Many commented they will never sing that tune again without being taken back to the pure rawness and beauty of her voice. I believe it was something one can never forget as this was an emotive, soul enriching experience. The attendance of all age groups is testament that the band has a far-reaching appeal. I have not given a perfect score before, but this amazing performance deserves nothing less!
