The Gov
Thursday 10th November 2022
This is a LED ZEPPELIN Approved Tribute Band from the UK and touring Australia for the First Time Ever!
“I walked in, I
saw me” (Robert Plant)
“That was ambitious, but you pulled it off” (Jimmy Page)
Letz Zep certainly did Led Zeppelin proud when they performed at The Gov on Thursday night! They are a look-a-like, sound-a-like Zep band and they performed all the classics from that great outfit.
The show started off with a track from each of their first four studio albums: Good Times Bad Times from their first album, Heartbreaker from Led Zeppelin II, Misty Mountain Hop from their untitled fourth album, then Since I’ve Been Loving You from Led Zeppelin III.
For No Quarter, most of the band left the stage and we were treated to an amazing keyboard performance from Jack Lonergan, who was playing two keyboards at once – and very impressively. The rest of the band joined him on stage then he swapped his keyboards for a bass guitar for Nobody’s Fault But Mine.
One of my favourite tracks followed with Dazed and Confused – and I think they must have been, as mid-way they Left My (their) Heart In San Francisco and announced We Are Stardust We Are Golden. Then they probably remembered what they were: Dazed and Confused as they returned to the original theme! After that they were Going To California 😊.
They then took us through excellent renditions of a couple of my favourite Zep songs – Bron-Y-Aur Stomp and Kashmir. As they did throughout the night, Andy Gray wowed us with his guitar playing and Billy Kolke with his Robert-Plant-like vocals.
After the familiar introduction to Moby Dick, most of the band left the stage again while Pete Tulloch thumped out the drum solo, before being rejoined for the remainder of the track. The crowd had been waiting for it all night, so there were loud cheers when (a shortened version of) Stairway To Heaven started.

Billy announced their final song for the evening – which ended up being a long medley comprising Bring It On Home, Black Dog and Whole Lotta Love. Instead of leaving the stage and waiting for the encore, they asked the enthusiastic audience if they wanted more – and received a resounding “yes”! They launched into Rock and Roll then finished up with (a disappointing version of) Immigrant Song.
Overall, with more than two hours on stage, Adelaide was treated to an excellent Led Zeppelin cover band! Let’s hope they return Down Under some time.
