Little Mix Concert Review

By Tony Polese · On July 29, 2017

Review by Kirsty Burns

The Little Mix Glory Days Tour this week was held at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.

The UK band have been touring since February this year and now hold the title of the worlds biggest girl group.

Opinions seemed no different here in Adelaide on Wednesday night. The concert was a sell out and ran smoothly and on time from start to finish… credit also owed to the Adelaide Entertainment staff who were all helpful and friendly.

It was great to see an Aussie supporting act, first up was Melbourne songstress Zoe Badwi.
Badwi’s genres are dance, pop and house music and its no surprise she won the gig being cousin to Jade Thirlwall from Little Mix. Despite this, she earned the the spot and played a recognisable set to all fans, a combination of older club favourites along with a slice of Ed Sheeran and Niall Horan.

When I first heard of the Little Mix Adelaide Tour I could only recall two of their biggest hits, “Shout Out To My Ex” and “Touch…  I quickly realised just how out of touch I was when mentioning the band to my teenage daughter. They are still the only group to ever win UK X-Factor 2011 and then swiftly signed up with Simon Cowell’s record label.

It didn’t matter that some of the songs were not as familiar to me as everyone in my company. The band had high energy, great dancers, special effects and engaged with their fans enough to keep all eyes on them.
The night was just like hanging out with a fun, talented, down to earth bunch of girlfriends.

The Theatre Venue does provide a more intimate experience, however as always with standing only tickets you can expect to be quite close to your neighbour at times. The flooring is all one level but my daughter and I were able to see the entire show and it didn’t seem to bother little die hard fan next to us (enjoying her very first concert) that she wasn’t able to see everything. Her twerking was second to none.

It was an easy, enjoyable night out filled with happy, enthusiastic fans.

I’d definitely recommend this concert to all ages and the ticket price was reasonable for the experience.
Thumbs up… we will be back to see them when they return.
