| Coming home for the Summer after 6 months, 80+ shows and 21 countries of wowing European, UK and American audiences, Lime Cordiale are back in Australia and excited to share their next single and video ‘Colin’. ‘Colin’ takes the Leimbach brothers on a slight sonic detour, inspired by sweet childhood memories and the melodies that guided them. The nostalgia and sentiment are echoed by Colin Hay on the track, who himself soundtracked many of Oli and Louis’ formative years. Says the Louis Leimbach from the band of the single: “The song started and finished with Colin Hay who has been an inspiration to us since high school years. His solo acoustic stuff is so bloody stunning. We got introduced to him in LA and now he invites us over for croissants whenever we head back there.” Continues Oli Leimbach “During lockdown Colin would go live on Instagram with his guitar. One day I picked up my guitar and played along with him and that afternoon wrote the start of this tune. It’s not about Colin but he started the creation of this song, so we asked him to finish it by singing the final chorus.” The band are rounding out 2022 with an ARIA nomination for Best Video with their previous release ‘Apple Crumble’ and a run of headline New Year shows. ‘Colin’follows on from their recent singles ‘Country Club’ and ‘Facts Of Life’ and will feature on their upcoming third studio album. In April and May, the band performed to over 34,000 Australian fans on the 14 Steps to A Better Youand Facts of Life tours, alongside festival sets at Groovin’ The Moo. In January of this year, Lime Cordiale also released Cordi Elba, their acclaimed collaboration with actor/musician/DJ and record label boss Idris Elba. The mini album debuted at#9 on the ARIA album chart and spawned the hit singles Apple Crumbleand What’s Not To Like, which landed at #14 and #41 on the triple j hottest 100 respectively. The track ‘Holiday’ on this album was later remixed by the legendary Fatboy Slim. Lime Cordiale has amassed over 350 million streams on Spotify, 29 millionApple Music streams, with YouTube views exceeding 20 million.
