Off the back of her incredible new single and video ‘Sticks and Horses ft. Goldlink,’ singer/songwriter and producer George Maple has shared a remix package featuring reworks from Deetron, Daktyl and Ms Maple herself. The remix package follows her recent collaboration with DJ Snake on the future summer smash ‘Talk’, an edit of the lead single from Maple’s acclaimed 2014 debut EP, Vacant Space and joins the news she’ll be showcasing her commanding performance, killer on stage style, complete live band and flawless vocal abilities on her biggest national tour to date this July. With a number of special guests to be revealed soon, tickets on sale now from georgemapletour.com
All three remixes take the track to fresh and thrilling places. Deetron morphs the original into a dark and urgent, techno inflected club beast whilst recent Mad Decent signee Daktyl’s re-imagining is a breathless, shape shifting creation. Rounding off the remix package is George Maple’s own interpretation which showcases her incredible, nuanced production skills. Layers of vocals and swathes of synths create a blissed out slow jam, the antithesis of the original track yet equally powerful.
The original of the track, featuring DC rapper GoldLink, sits at over six hundred thousand Spotify streams, holding strong positions on both UK and AUS viral Spotify charts, Shazam charts and radio play across the United States, Australia, United Kingdom and Europe. ‘Sticks and Horses’ follows 2015’s dark R&B anthem ‘Where You End and I Begin’ ft. Grande Marshall and ‘Gemini’, her monster collaboration with What So Not.
Co-produced by Maple, alongside long time friends and collaborators Noah Breakfast, WILLIS and What So Not, her new single was inspired her observations of “power, sex, money, and greed” – it was even road tested at a strip club to make sure she was on the right path. The accompanying video is undoubtedly one of the most striking visuals you’ll see this year, directed by Leticia Dare with editing by Josiah Spencer (Drunk In Love).
Behind the scenes, her writing and production credits include artists such as Hayden James, Snakehips, Flight Facilities, Flume and Tkay Maidza, with her projects clocking up a total of 70 million SoundCloud plays across the board. As a live performer, Maple has sold out shows in London, L.A, New York and across Australia, recently teasing festival crowds with her guest appearances at the likes of Coachella, O’lympia Paris and Groovin The Moo,
