FOMO Festival Review
Adelaide Goal
January 6, 2017

Words by Millie Campion

Although the stifling heat got to around 39 degrees, this didn’t stop the performance of the artists or the energy from the crowd.  The festival kicked off with Adelaide artists- Dancespace, TXNK and followed by Strict Face, the young music producer defiantly took the vibe in a different direction.  Adelaide isn’t the place you would normally find the grime scene, however Strict Face defiantly delivered.

The atmosphere quickly changed again as the bass-heavy house DJ Hannah Wants came onto stage, playing an incredible set and stage presence that had the audience buzzing. This quickly shifted once again as a 19 year old American rapper Desiigner came onto the stage. Desiigner has collaborated with some of the most famous producers and artists in the world, such as Kanye West, so the anticipation was high for this set. However, he defiantly delivered showcasing from his new mixtape, his collaborations with Kanye West and also his most famous songs such as Panda and Timmy Turner which had the crowd going absolutely crazy, the energy this artist brought was astonishing.

As the night progressed we saw artists such as George Maple, American artists Goldlink and Metro Boomin followed with another grime artist Jme. and Peking Duk the Australian electronic duo defiantly hyped up the crowd as the stage had emulsified in numbers, showcasing some of their new music and production which was a surprisingly different feel and sound from their older music.

The anticipation for Flosstradamus was immense, and the trap duo did not disappoint. Although due to the extreme heat some technical difficulties arose; however, the pair ensured that this performance was going to be one remembered. In all it was an excellent day and from the turn out to the atmosphere from the crowd you could defiantly call FOMO a success.
