Grammy award winning UK trio Clean Bandit have released the emotionalofficial video for their new single Symphony, featuring Swedish sensation Zara Larsson. The video cuts between stunning footage of Clean Bandit and Larsson performing with the titular symphony and a heartbreaking story of love and loss between a symphony conductor and his boyfriend.
The clip was co-directed by bandmember Grace Chatto, who described the story told in the video. “The conductor leads the symphony orchestra that we are part of. Through music, he finds strength going through heartbreak and loss. We always direct and make our own music videos, but this is the first time we have attempted such a linear narrative.”
Written by Jack Patterson, Ina Wrolsden, Steve Mac and Anmar Malik and produced by Patterson and Mark Ralph, Symphony fuses the band’s musicality into an epic dance hit – something that has seen the trio become a staple in charts across the globe. The track’s title fittingly references Clean bandit’s classically trained beginnings. The video for Symphony also allowed Clean Bandit to fulfil a lifelong dream to perform at The Royal Festival Hall with a full orchestra.
Symphony is the third single from the group’s upcoming sophomore LP and follows the ARIA #1 single Rockabye with fellow UK superstar Anne-Marie.Rockabye is now certified 3x platinum in Australia and has reached 300million streams worldwide.
