2023 Adelaide Fringe Review – KOKOON

By Tony Polese · On March 9, 2023

This is one not to miss.

KOKOON are a K-pop Boy Band from Korea. Described as “K-pop meets Comedy!” and “Sold Out Smash Hit in Korea and Japan!”

Will have you chanting KOKOON like a teenage fan before you know it.

This is the first time that KOKOON has performed in Australia, and well, they fit right in.

Part Comedy, part cover or tribute to other KPOP groups and part original artists, they are the perfect balance of fun, entertainment, powerful, talent, funny, and tastefully ‘taking the piss’, and not taking themselves too seriously.

KOKOON are a triple threat: Dancers, Singers, and Genuinely Funny.

With great acts including tributes to BTS, Blackpink, and PSY they performed cover songs with impressive and formidable dance routines. Interspersed by their own original songs and music. Both of which were incredibly impressive – their dance routines, production, and execution had you feeling like you were in a club or at the front edge of KPOP Stardom.

The point of different for KOKOON is their ability to provide entertainment through humour and comedy. From mindblowing beatboxing, to animal mimicry and sound effects, their acting, singing, and comedic appeal is on point.

Party vibes, lighting and sound, and their engaging performance had you chanting KO-KOON, KO-KOON and calling for me.

For KPOP veterans and dedicated fans to those who have never seen a KPOP performance before this one is for you.
