We don’t mean to alarm you, Adelaide, but there’s going to be another Gincident!
What’s a Gincident, you ask? It’s an event that happened due to one too many gins. While we all know someone who has experienced a few “Gincidents” themselves, have you ever been to a festival dedicated entirely to the humble juniper berry and its many, unique variations of consumption?
Gincident is a festival dedicated to the best Australian gins—and with Adelaide known as the Gin State, we know all about the best spirits.
Following last year’s gintastic debut and the increasing popularity of all things gin, Gincident will take place on the 14th of December, at the unique Flour Shed, Hart’s Mill in Port Adelaide.
South Australia is the “Festival State” and the “Gin State”, so what better way to celebrate such titles than to have a Gin Festival? Inside the Flour Shed, the main bar – “Ginsational” – will be run by one of Adelaide’s favourite gin dens, The Howling Owl, making gin cocktails with some of the finest Australian Gins. Festival goers will also be able to try free samples from around 20 different gin distillers. Outside there will be a selection of amazing local food vendors, to let you dine with friends by the river. Gincident will kickstart you into the Spirit of Christmas (get it?!) with Christmas-Special Gin batches, so you can get a head start on your shopping!
Some of the Gintastic companies sharing their Gin at the Festival will include 5Nines Distilling | Ambleside Distillers | Ambra Liqueurs | Animus Distillery | Archie Rose Distilling Co. | Australian Distilling Co. | Blend Etiquette – Pangolin Gin | Lyrebird Gin | Cape Byron Distillery | Fever Tree Tonic | Forage & Co | Four Pillars | Kangaroo Island Spirits | Kilderkin Distillery Larrikin Gin | Happenstance Distillery | Imperial Measures Distilling | Lawrenny Estate Distilling | Lobo Gin & Cider| Martin Distillation | McHenry Distillery | Never Never Distilling Co. | Prohibition Liquor Co. | Seppeltsfield Road Distillery | The Howling Owl
This event will celebrate Mother Nature’s best work, cheers to plants, cheers to botanicals and a big cheers to the Juniper Berry. And what better way to celebrate than with a G&T in hand, and listening to live gintertainment or joining one of the Ginius masterclass sessions throughout the day!
Lock in the date on your calendars, because, inside the Flour Shed or outdoors by the river, this is one Gincident you won’t want to miss!
