The Curious Squire – Winter Menu launch

The Curious Squire – Serves up a Southern style American Feast

Words by Kathryn Robertson

If you love your burgers and deep fried Southern American style food then I’ve found the perfect spot.  Look no further than the Curious Squire in North Adelaide.

The Curious Squire is currently Adelaide’s hottest spot for the likes of burgers, bbq ribs, wings and more.

Just recently, Eventalaide and other guests were invited to try out their new winter menu, which Head Chef Joshua Barry explained that the new extended menu was heavily influenced by Down South Louisiana cooking with a French and Italian twist.

He also had some interesting facts for us in regards to the new menu. Apparently they are selling some 600 “mother klucker” burgers a week at the moment, showing just how popular Cajun inspired food currently is.

Now I have to be honest and say I’m not usually a huge fan of burgers and deep friend food, but there were some real winner dishes here that stood out to me.

For starters, I loved the American Buffalo wings, I mean who doesn’t love wings, and these were seriously good and oh so morish. Also I must mention the Quiona & Pumpkin seed salad, this was just fantastic and perfect for those of you who are seeking a lighter option.

Next out were the stars of the night….the burgers.  We had 3 choices to choose from, which were smaller slider type size burgers. It was hard to choose and I honestly couldn’t eat them all. I had the Mother Kluker burger, with its juicy large piece of chicken inside, which went down a treat.

My favourite part of the menu was next, the Louisiana jambalaya was simply amazing and a nice change from the heavier dishes on offer. I loved the spicy mix of rice, veggies, chicken and seafood.  A dish that is very reminiscent of a risotto, you will definitely be wanting more of this. I also loved the Ribs, these were perfection, tasty and juicy, and a real hit with kids.

And to finish our tasting off we were treated to desert. I went with the deep fried Oreo’s and ice cream, simply divine. This was the perfect end to my meal and night.

Make sure you head down to the Curious Squire. They offer the perfect menu of winter warming food.

Location: 10 O’Connell St, North Adelaide
