Betty’s Burgers & Concrete Co. (Rundle Street) review

By Tony Polese · On March 29, 2019

It seems like gourmet burger joints have been popping up like daisies in the past few years, and Betty’s Burgers has just opened a new store on Rundle Street, and it’s quickly become the trendiest new burger restaurant in Adelaide!

With inspiration from traditional American burger restaurants, the neon sign and beachside vibes pull you in.
The atmosphere is really great, definitely one to brag about on Instagram to make your friends jealous.
Come for lunch or be prepared to possibly wait in line to come for dinner, as it can get very busy.

Their thickshakes are amazing, made with frozen custard, which makes them extra thick. I highly recommend the peanut butter flavour, it’s amazing and not overly sweet, which is a good thing!

Their French fries and onion rings are pretty standard for how you’d expect, but taste good. But what makes them special is the side of Betty’s Special Sauce, which is delicious.

Their burgers are big, believe me, you’ll fill up pretty quickly. And there are vegetarian options available as well.
I tried the Betty’s Classic Stack, which is a combined mix of the Betty’s Classic and Shroom Burger, and from the presentation to the taste, I was very impressed.

If you’re not a big an of mushrooms, then this burger will change your mind!
With a crisp fried mushroom patty with melted Gouda and Gruyere cheese, Angus beef, lettuce, tomato, onion and Betty’s Special Sauce, this burger will fill up both your hands and your stomach. I highly recommend this!

If you get one of the simpler burgers, then they’re not too special, but get one of the deluxe burgers on the menu and you’ll be impressed! Some other notable options are Pork Belly, Spiced Chicken and the Bare Betty, which is a bunless burger that uses lettuce leaves instead of the bun, great if you’re watching those carbs but a but more fiddly.

Betty’s Burgers also do salads and provide alcohol as well, so it’s a proper restaurant, the perfect place to go for a casual date.
And to satisfy your sweet tooth, for dessert they make what they call ‘Concretes’, which are rich and creamy custard ice creams combined with some classic recipes, such as Peanut Butter Brittle, Cookie Butter, Chocolate Hazelnut Donut, Lemon Raspberry Cheesecake and Almond Toffee Marshmallow.

With friendly service too, I’d definitely go back in the future.
So I’m giving Betty’s Burgers and Concrete Co. an 8/10.
