Adelaide Fringe Review – Faulty Towers

By Tony Polese · On February 25, 2022

What: Faulty Towers The Dining Experience
Where: The Terrrace Hotel (Botanical Room)
Duration: 120 mins
When: Now through to March 13. Lunch and dinner time slots available.
Genre: Theatre/Comedy
Rating: Show 5 out of 5. Food 3 out of 5. Overall 8 out of 10 (4 stars)

The best improvised show I have ever been to! Faulty Towers The Dining Experience is non-stop laugh a minute mayhem and chaos. From the moment I was crossing the road to the venue, I was was subjected to physical comedy and verbal miscommunication that had us all revved up for two hours of laughter.

Manuel, Basil and Sybil not only had the physical similarities, but their banter and slapstick comedy were spot on with the original Faulty Towers characters. You really felt like you were in one of the episodes. For those who love the TV series you definitely won’t be disappointed with the portrayal of each character and with plenty of Faulty Towers references perfectly intertwined with the spontaneous antics of the night.

The chemistry between the characters was fantastic and that helped make them so believable. A well behaved crowd was lapping it up and were even excited when they became part of the show.

Even though the show was of the highest quality and was laughter aplenty throughout, the food was a little average. The soup and dessert courses were lacklustre and think would have been nice to have had the food of higher standard to match the total class and quality that the show was.

But in summary, a fun night had by all.
