Adelaide’s Favourite Festival
Playground Opens for 2019

Australia’s biggest culture playground – The Garden of Unearthly Delights – will officially open to the public on Thursday, February 14 at 7.30pm with FREE live music and performances.

Gates swing open at 7.30pm, with Garden goers being led to gather at a cultural space within The Garden ‘Mullawirrayerta / Dry Forest Place’ to witness a public greeting to country at 8.00pm. This ceremony will incorporate a spoken greeting, smoke, fire, traditional and contemporary dance by Karl Winda Telfer and Yellaka.
FREE shows will kick-off from 8.30pm starting with brassy, jazz sensation Horns of Leroy. Later in the night Alex Rossi & Friends roll a mash-up of traditional blues, hip hop and high-energy rock ’n ’roll into a bustling dance party.

As always, The Garden’s delicious world food offerings and fun bars will be ready to serve the crowds. Michelle Buxton, Co-Director of The Garden of Unearthly Delights said: I cannot wait for The Garden to burst into life once again. It is always such a thrill to see our wonderland filled with people having fun. The punked-out joy of the Horns of Leroy and the amazing Alex Rossi & Friends will have everyone dancing and I’m really excited to have the spectacular local Aboriginal art and dance troupe, Yellaka, performing as part of our Opening Night celebrations too. It’s all yours and it’s all free. See you on Thursday night!
