Follow Scooter to see how the German techno stars respond to changes and restrictions with the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. From the power and culture of dance music, to the dynamics of working together through changing circumstances, this documentary (dokufilme) is one for the dance music lovers.
Starting with the band performing a live gig in a large room and great production, with the audience present only online. The group adapt through separation distances, connections and tensions. The concert receives a groundbreaking number of views online.
HP, the lead singer of Scooter shares his response and his house as the group navigates through the changing world. You are invited into a genuine experience of life as the singer of a famous group, from hanging art on the walls to the carpet and pets on the floor. While there are domestic elements, this sets the scene for telling the story of how the group was formed and how they became the most commercially successful German single-record act with 23 top ten hits
The documentary follows the group through changes in restrictions, outdoor festivals, production, and being in the studio with a safe distance. While the film is about the group’s response to these changes, refreshingly it does not focus on the virus itself, but rather their relationships and drive to continue, unquestionably, and with a little openness to things being a little different than they used to be.
A story of resilience and coping mechanisms: pre show rituals, and dressing as if you were going to work, the film is motivational and inspirational, served up with a side of frankness and personal peculiarities.
The German Film Festival is coming to Adelaide from 2 to 24 May 2023. This year the festival features over 30 films showing at Palace Nova Eastend and Palace Nova Prospect Cinemas.
