Unplotted Potter
Tandanya Theatre
March 6 2016
Attention Adelaide Potterheads – Unplotted Potter have jumped into the Floo Network and landed in town for the Fringe and we solemnly swear they are up to no good!
In one hour, the six-member cast of Unplotted Potter take the audience on an amusing journey to explore the wizarding world of Hogwarts through the eyes of minor, lesser-known characters.
Completely improvised, the actors bounce off one another throughout the performance, rolling with the flow and embracing their own errors and awkward moments – making the play that much more entertaining and captivating for the audience.
If you’re already a Potter fan, this show will not only bring back some of your favourite memories of the series, but it will also probably teach you something completely new about a character you had previously overlooked. If you haven’t yet been drawn into Potter mayhem, then prepare to fall in love with the wizarding world in the most unexpected ways!
On the night we attended, we learnt the story behind the vulture-like Irma Pince (librarian of Hogwarts), her cat ‘Killer’ and her rumoured lover, Argus Filch. Enthusiastically the cast launched into a tale of rejection, allergic reactions and secret desire that had the audience in stitches after every scene.
With wit, comedy and unparalleled Potter knowledge, Unplotted Potter is a show that certainly keeps the magic alive at the Adelaide Fringe this year.
Since every show is unscripted, every play is different. So I guess that means we’ll be seeing you again at Tandanya Theatre for more wizarding laughs before March 13. Grab your tickets from www.adelaidefringe.com.au/fringetix before it’s too late.
Mischief managed!
Witty, funny and just a little bit nerdy... the ideal show for every Potter fan!
