Robin Hood (2018) Film Review

By Tony Polese · On November 28, 2018

A very entertaining and enjoyable movie! Although it’s not a classic, take it for what it is because it’s definitely better than I anticipated it would be.
We have seen so many adaptions of Robin Hood that you may start to think to yourself, “Another one?…”, but believe me, give this movie a chance and you’ll be quite impressed.
It’s a suspenseful action movie and a proper love story all in one. So convince your partners to come along because everyone will enjoy it.
Left scarred by the war, young crusader, Lord Robin of Loxley (played by Taron Egerton) and his unlikely enemy-turned-friend, ‘Little John’ (played by Jamie Foxx), discover the corruption and scandal of the church, which are attempting to gain monetary profit for their own personal benefit by terrorising the people to give everything they’ve got as a “tax for the war effort”, with Robin partnering with his true love (Marion) back in the process.
One of my favourite Australian actors, Ben Mendelsohn, makes an impressive appearance throughout the film and plays an extremely corrupt Sherrif of Nottingham. You may recognise him from movies such as Star Wars: Rogue One and The Dark Knight Rises.
Give it a chance and you won’t regret it!
A thoroughly enjoyable movie.
