Opening Night | The Champion
The Champion follows Christian (Andrea Carpenzano, Boys Cry, LIFF18) a young superstar striker for Roma whose childhood growing up in a rough area of Napoli is a far cry from the millionaire lifestyle he is now living.
Christian’s determination to prove that his rebellious roots remain, lands him in trouble time and time again, until he is given an ultimatum: get in line, or get out.
Enter Valerio (Stefano Accorsi, The Italian Race, LIFF16) a tutor enlisted to help the troubled player in school. But Christian’s world of fame and Ferraris clashes with Valerio’s humble circumstances, bringing forth conflicts that are seemingly insurmountable.
