Adelaide Fringe Review – Loose Ends

By Tony Polese · On March 3, 2018

LOOSE ENDS is a Children’s Theatre Show by JENS ALTHEIMER.

Suitable for ages 3-10.

Jens is an experienced performer who specialises in visual theatre for families.
He began as a circus performer and spent a large part of this career performing in Europe.

Over the last few years, he’s been exploring the relationships between humans and objects… and LOOSE ENDS is exactly that.
LOOSE ENDS is a touching and interactive one-man show. A story of an eccentric, inventor who collects and hoards objects that might seem worthless to most people

His character is comparable to a younger DOC (from Back to The Future) and during the show he learns to move out from this comfort zone in search of friendship.
The use of creative props such as magnets, wind power, puppets and general thingamabob bits and pieces. It’s a subtle reminder about enjoying the simple things, the importance of creativity and our need to disconnect with materialism.
It’s just so wonderful for our kids to experience “real” theatrics – very little words were spoken allowing their minds to absorb, unriddle and explore.
LOOSE ENDS is a little slow at the start for the younger audience members… however then becomes a gorgeous, interactive production for both boys and girls. It’s funny, sad, uplifting and encouraging.
