Throughout the Fringe, at Gluttony.
Parents: are you looking for a way to break the kids away from their mobile devices while demonstrating you’re an interested, engaged parent?
Kids: are your parents driving you crazy by insisting you spend ‘quality time’ together?
Partners: has your attached human grated down your very last nerve?
Then Fortnite Battle Royal might be THE perfect activity for you.
You don’t need to know anything about the bafflingly popular electronic game to anticipate the fun of a foam tipped Nerf gun battle against your friends and foes.
Running for 30 minutes (and believe me that’s more than enough exercise!), you get time to choose your weapon from hundreds of Nerf styles, practice your aim, and have a couple of ‘capture the flag’ battles to get a feel for the game play, strategy and who are your biggest threats. The session culminates with a battle to the death where the last person standing is declared the champion, and wins a very pricey medal, plus a coveted spot in the grand final battle to be held on the last Saturday of the Fringe. The winner of the grand final will be covered in glory on live Channel 44 local tv, which will no doubt lead to many lucrative reality tv show offers (or Married at First Sight if you’re really unlucky). There’s loads of obstacles to add to the challenge and up to 30 people can battle it out each session. Wear your sneakers, and the venue supplies safety glasses.
This is a great activity to break up the sitting and eating that can dominate a Fringe experience. It’s priced well at $12 for the session PLUS there’s the opportunity to nerf gun each other throughout the day in unscheduled times for just $5 for 15 – that’s a bargain for parents who want a way to wear out the batteries of their kids while they sneak a coffee or glass of wine themselves.
One of the sweatiest, most fun, best value activities at the fringe for any age.
