Annabel Crabb is a political commentator, journalist and interviewer for ABC. She has appeared on many TV programmes and has her own interview show called The Cabinet on ABC2. This week at the Adelaide Festival Annabel chats with 5 different ladies to discuss festivals, food, fragrances and anything else that may come up.
On Monday 6th March her guest was Australian writer Kate Grenville. Kate has written many books, both fiction and nonfiction. One of her books, The Secret River, has been adapted as a play and is currently a feature for the Adelaide Festival.
Annabel certainly has mastered the art of conservation. With glass of wine in hand, she appears relaxed while effortlessly guiding the guest in conversation, often with humour. She was extremely knowledgeable about her guest.
Part of the discussion centred on Kate’s book The Secret River and the stage production. The introduction of Kate’s new book The Case Against Fragrance led to an in-depth discussion about writing this book as well as writing in general.
The two bounced off each other all evening, giving the audience a detailed look into the life of a writer and the joys and misgivings of writing.
It was a highly entertaining, interesting and funny evening. Annabel Crabb is in a class of her own when hosting and interviewing guests.
