Award Winning LIMBO Unhinges for Adelaide Fringe
New music, themes, artists and acts are all on the program for LIMBO UNHINGED, an altogether darker, crazier party from the creators of the award winning, international sensation LIMBO; (Pick of the Fringe (2013), Winner Best Circus & Physical Theatre (Adelaide Fringe 2014), Winner Cabaret Award (Perth Fringe World 2016)).
LIMBO UNHINGED will play in The Vagabond Garden of Unearthly Delights from 25 February to 19 March. Tickets are now sale through Fringetix.
Presented by Strut & Fret, LIMBO UNHINGED promises to be a brazen, crazed and wildly hypnotic journey with favourite LIMBO characters alongside a host of new, world-renowned circus performers.
Returning for LIMBO UNHINGED are Coney Island’s sword swallower and vintage beauty, Heather Holliday, Parisian contortionist and acrobat, Aurelien Oudot, and French gravity-defying Chinese Pole and beat boxing master Mikael Bres. New for 2017 are France’s aerial sensation Jérôme Sordillon, hand to hand experts, Irish-Canadian, Charlotte O’Sullivan and Nicolas Jelmoni of Monaco, alongside the acrobatic expertise of Berlin’s Rémi Martin Lenz.
Prolific Sydney musician, Mick Stuart will lead the live ensemble, performing haunting ethereal melodies, irreverent electro-acoustic noise and playfully sexy beats, composed exclusively by New York’s Jank maestro, Sxip Shirey.
LIMBO UNHINGED director Scott Maidment says: ‘LIMBO has been such an Adelaide favourite, and this time I wanted to take things a step further. UNHINGED is a bit more manic and a bit more crazy. It’s an exploration of heaven and hell — but we’re turning the dial even harder. Continuing with all the sexiness, sizzle and edge of your seat spectacle of LIMBO, this crazed new show will include yet more breath-taking acts in an even grittier and hotter netherworld’.
LIMBO sold out its premiere season at the Adelaide Fringe Festival in 2013 before heading direct to London’s Southbank where it headlined the five-month long London Wonderground Festival and then to Edinburgh’s Winter Wonderland. Madonna came to see it twice!
