Sports satirist & social media star Titus O’Reily

By Tony Polese · On August 20, 2019
TO TAKE BETTER LIVING THROUGH SPORT ON TOUR FOLLOWING A HUGE 23-SHOW RUN AT THE MELBOURNE INTERNATIONAL COMEDY FESTIVAL

After selling out the majority of his 23 show-run at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival (MICF) this year, Frontier Comedy is thrilled to announce that Australia’s most hilarious sports satirist Titus O’Reily is taking his hit show Better Living Through Sport on the road in a national tour!

With two sell-out MICF seasons and last year’s crowd-pleasing Bye Round Tour of Australian capitals under his belt, the prolific Tweeter is back to impart his worldly wisdom onto grateful audiences once more. Titus kicks off his Better Living Through Sport tour at The Street Theatre, Canberra on Saturday 10 August before hitting Adelaide’s Arkaba Hotel on Thursday 22 August, The Sydney Comedy Store on Friday 30 and Perth’s Octagon Theatre on Saturday 31 August. Titus then heads to Hobart on Saturday 12 October for a show at  Jokers Comedy Club before jetting up to Brisbane’s Sit Down Comedy Club on Saturday 19 October.

This show will make you rich, healthier and ridiculously good looking. Drawing on lessons learned from his years lying on the couch watching sports, Titus shows you a simple 147-step plan to improve your life through the lessons of professional sport. Applying free agency rules to relationships, using a prepared statement to get you out of trouble with work colleagues, or offering a ‘to anyone who was offended’ apology, Titus presents a masterclass in how to improve your life with the elite honesty of our top sportspeople.

‘Taps into the mindset of a sports tragic – witty one-liners synonymous with his irreverent brand of humour.’ – The Age

‘Hysterically funny. The crowd loves it!’ – In Review

‘An hilarious array of one-liners.’– The West Australian

‘O’Reily finds the goal. Well judged and nicely pitched.’ – Herald Sun

‘A very enjoyable show by a top-quality comedian keeps the entire audience engaged and laughing. I highly recommend this show.’– RMIT Catalyst

Australia’s most popular sports satirist, Titus’ columns have clocked him up a rapidly growing 300,000 followers on social media. With lightning quick, clever and hilarious insights, Titus is a popular TV and radio guest with regular appearances on ABC News Breakfast, The Project, Melbourne’s NOVA 100 FM and Jules Schiller’s weekly ABC Radio Drive show The Clubhouse.

Since his sell-out debut MICF season in 2018, Titus has performed at the AFL Commission’s Grand Final Luncheon in front of Australia’s Prime Minister and a host of political, sporting and media heavyweights, and his biting sports commentary has seen Titus invited to appear on Channel Seven’s AFL coverage,The Front Bar, ABC Grandstand and Fox Sports.

Titus has written three books – A Thoroughly Unhelpful History of Australian Sport was commissioned for a second print run and re-released as a special Father’s Day edition last year. His second book, A Sporting Chance: Australian Sporting Scandals and the Path to Redemption, was released in October 2018 and third book Please, Gamble Irresponsibly: The rise, fall and rise of sport gambling in Australia is due for release on 5th November 2019 and available for pre-order now.

Don’t miss comedian, writer and radio & TV personality Titus O’Reily as he once again finds the gut-busting hilarity in Australian sports, live on stage! Tickets are not expected to last long.
