Ukulele Death Squad Review

By Tony Polese · On October 7, 2018

Don’t let their name fool you! After winning “Best Music Act” of the 2018 Adelaide Fringe and sell out performances at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Ukulele Death Squad returned to Adelaide last Sunday for an enlivening performance at Elder Hall.

Currently touring nationally in celebration of their debut single ‘Not Afraid’, the band brought a loud and lively energy to the stage. Their cheeky, spirited style transverse everything from New Orleans jazz, Spanish flamenco, American rap and Irish jigs, with the crowd often joining in with a percussion of hands and feet.

If you missed them, don’t despair! There are plenty more chances coming up in the 2019 Adelaide Fringe to experience the outrageously raucous talent of “the world’s most dangerous ukulele group”:

  • March 3rd 2019
Fruke – A Ukulele Fringe Festival
  • March 12th, 13th and 14th 2019

Nick Cave Tribute by Ukulele Death Squad at the Grace Emily Hotel

  • March 16th 2019

  • April 7th 2019
