Tonight Alive at The Gov Review

By Tony Polese · On May 13, 2018

Tonight Alive played an incredibly punchy set opening with Book Of Love from the new album Underworld followed by Lonely Girl and The Ocean. The crowd was then treated to (what singer Jenna McDougall described as a song that is heavily requested but rarely played live) acoustic version of Amelia. After taking the energy down a few notches, it was quickly brought back up again to end the set with The Edge and Temple.

Tonight Alive as a ‘whole’, had an amazing stage presence but as far as lead singers go, Jenna McDougall’s showmanship and energy levels were comparable with the best! On a live scale, regardless of whether they are playing on a large stage or a small stage, they manage to capture the same amount of intensity in their performances. They are definitely the type of band that will impress even the harshest critic.
