Charlie Caper is bringing his Future show to The Garden

By Tony Polese · On February 8, 2026

World class magic and artificial intelligence collide! You are introduced to an extraordinary mechanical

ensemble, including Sparky, a state-of-the-art mechatronic dog straight out of Black Mirror. Bob, the

most advanced social robot in the world, and many more custom-built automatons. Together they push

the boundaries of both magic and technology. Watch in amazement as thoughts become surreal

landscapes, the First Law of Thermodynamics takes a nap, and robots wonder how much you have to

think to therefore be.“Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.” – Arthur C Clarke

Charlie won awards at both Adelaide Fringe and Fringe world three years in a row with three different

shows (2018-2020) and is probably the only show out there to have an Australian Fringe Hattrick. Now

he brings The Future to find out what happens when mechatronic hearts start beating, and the line

between artificial and authentic blurs?

“There are some rare gems on the Edinburgh Fringe and the multi-talented, Swedish magician Charlie

Caper shines out among them.” – The Edinburgh Reporter (review of “Magical”)

“A master of illusion”, “A clear genius” – The Advertiser (review of “Magical”)

The Future plays the Paragon, Feb 13 to Mar 22 with some days in the second week off as Charlie is in

the UK headlining the biggest magic convention in the world, performing in front of 5000 magicians.
