Tom (Liam Neeson) is a notorious bank robber who has been able to rob banks undetected. When he goes to hire a storage unit to stash his booty he meets, and falls in love with, divorcee Annie (Kate Walsh) who manages the storage facility.
A year later he shows Annie a house he is considering buying and asks her to move in with him. He also wants to tell her about his past, but she is too tired for any more information that day. Meanwhile he decides to call the FBI to confess to all the robberies, return every cent he stole and cut a deal so that he would get minimal time in jail and Annie would have full visitation rights. They don’t believe him but eventually send two detectives to meet him.
They also don’t believe him, so he gives them the key to the storage unit, in which they find several boxes full of money. Now the real story begins as he is double-crossed by the two crooked agents. He is set up and now has to prove his innocence and clear his name, while also protecting his beloved Annie. Such action requires his expertise as a former Marine trained in explosives to come into play!
It is a gripping story line and well worth watching. Filled with action, twists and drama – but not over the top like some American (and Liam Neeson) movies. These scenarios are reasonably plausible and you can’t help liking, and feeling empathy for, Tom.
Well worth getting out post-COVID and seeing this at the cinema!
