Circus of Illusion to premiere in Adelaide

By Tony Polese · On August 24, 2016

… acts of escape, levitation and THE SCORPION
never before seen in Australia

Following successful Adelaide seasons of Cabaret de Paris and The Ultimate Vegas Show internationally acclaimed Illusionist and Australia’s Got Talent finalist Michael Boyd has announced he will premiere his latest show Circus of Illusion in Adelaide under The Big Top in Bonython Park, on Port Road.

The season will play from Friday 30 September until 23 October ahead of planned dates in other states. The show will be presented in a fully-seated, heated big top with walkup magical experiences including the Magic Mirror Maze, a Museum of Magical Arts, and Magic Workshops where children can learn magic.

Circus of Illusion brings together an international troupe of world-class circus artists, clowns, jugglers, mimes, magicians and illusionists, with acts never before seen in this country including Michael’s latest prestidigitation with The Scorpion.

New York ringmaster Ebon Greyman, formerly with Cirque du Soleil, heads the line- up with his eccentric character-comedy.

Spanish clown and renowned circus artist Duban Nickol will present his impressive suite of comedic talents and clever antics.

French mime artist, Stephan Le Forestier (who holds a master of engineering and studied and performed with the legendary Marcel Marceau), brings stunning magic, mime and elegant artistry to the stage.

Australian aerialist stunt woman and dancer Elissa Cadwell began her professional career at age 17 at the Moulin Rouge, Paris, and has performed since as an aerialist in Italy, Monaco and Hong Kong and in productions such as Cirque le Noir and Le Grand Cirque.

Australian extreme juggler Jonathan Freeman presents a conglomerate of jaw-dropping acrobatics mixed with exceptionally fast-paced juggling, modern high-tech music and incredible feats of balance. Jonathan was invited by the founder of Cirque du Soleil, to develop his act at their Montreal headquarters.

Michael says of his latest baby, ‘Circus of Illusion presents brand new acts with death-defying escapes, incredible levitating ladies and some ingenuous heart-stopping illusions.  It’s another-worldly fantasy where circus and illusion fuse into a show of whimsical wonder and dramatic spectacle.’
