Rundle Mall’s LEGO window display this Christmas

By Tony Polese · On November 22, 2019

Rundle Mall promises to deliver a sparkling and enchanting festive celebration as it blends festive tradition with arts and culture this Christmas.

A series of 10 individually-themed windows installed along the 520m length of the Mall have been inspired by hand-crafted artisanry from identities, brands and institutions to infuse Australian culture with the rituals, joy and wonder of Christmas.

Featuring the Art Gallery of South Australia to renowned couturier Cristina Tridente, each window tells an individual story delivering messages of love, hope and intention for all ages.

From treasuring the memories created when friends and family gather, to the beauty of handmade gifts for the children and the intricacies of miniature worlds, the Christmas windows bring to life the magic of Christmas.

Rundle Mall General Manager Johanna Williams says the windows herald the arrival of the festive season in the heart of Adelaide.

“As a community we turn to the city for the centre of festive celebrations and Rundle Mall has been a favourite place for generations of South Australians to visit at Christmas,” Johanna says.

“To start our own new tradition, we have revisited the success of last year’s windows with a distinctly South Australian interpretation of the festive spirit capturing the beauty of imagination and the creativity of some of our local artists.”

The windows also mark a turning point for Rundle Mall with the revealing of a new identity.

The visual identity embraces Rundle Mall’s iconic Mall’s Balls. Johanna said the design was deliberate in its simplicity with a tagline reflective of South Australia’s premier retail precinct – ‘expect it all’.

“We’re thrilled to unveil our new look to mark the busiest time of year in Rundle Mall,” Johanna says.
