Headed to The Grace Emily Hotel to see the brilliant Bob Evans on his 2017 tour with Bec Stevens. Not having known much about Bob Evans, his music and the kind of fans he has – I wasn’t sure what to expect when I arrived. When I walked into the hotel and spoke to a few people, 95% of them were die hard fans (which was awesome to see them coming to support his gig.)
First of all, I couldn’t think of a better supporting act than Bec Stevens; she was not only entertaining but her voice was something of a rarity and perfectly suited to Evans.
When Evans came on stage the vibes of the entire place were heightened. The best thing I think a good singer does is interact with his or her audience as if they are best mates, which he did perfectly. Evans’ humour mixed with his vocal and instrumental skills made for an entertaining evening and The Grace Emily definitely knew how to set up the show perfectly too.
If you’re looking for a decent acoustic gig to have a few wines and beers with ya mates at – Bob Evans is definitely a show not to miss out on in his next tour! He loved the crowd and more importantly the crowd ADORED him too.
